Background

The International School Saigon Pearl (ISSP) is a purpose-built elementary school affiliated with ISHCMC American Academy high school. The two schools are part of the Cognita education group, along with the International School of Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC). 

The ISSP campus includes a well-resourced library and media centre, specialist rooms for art, music, dance and golf, age-appropriate play areas, a gym and a swimming pool. The IT facilities and integrated technology programme includes iPads, ICT labs and interactive whiteboards. ISSP’s after-school activity programme includes a good range of clubs and sports such as taekwondo, cooking, table tennis, ballet or badminton, among others.

Curriculum

ISSP offers a rigorous American curriculum based on AERO (American Education Reaches Out) standards. AERO is a project supported by the U.S. State Department’s Office of Overseas Schools and the Overseas Schools Advisory Council (OSAC) to assist schools in developing and implementing standards-based curriculums. Students are tested twice a year using the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP) standardised testing.

Location

The school is in Binh Thanh District, between District 3 and District 2, a short drive from the city centre.

Fees

For the 2022/2023 school year, fees range from VND 224.9 million for Early Years 1 and 2 (half days) to VND 505.6 million for Grade 3 to 5. Fees can be paid in a two-payment, per semester option or a four-payment, per term option. There is an admissions fee of 25 million VND.
