I have a US international license, but it's only good a year from now - February 2012. Do I need a Canadian license to get Canadian car insurance? Is there anything else I would need.

Yes, I think it is a possible needs for anyone who wants to have a car insurance in any country. If you want to have a car insurance in Canada, then you probably need a Canadian license to get the car insurance.
