My fiance is in the Army and is moving to Qatar in May and we are hoping to get married in April. What kind of visa do I need to get in order to join him over there? I don't feel like either the tourist or business visas apply to my situation. Any advice is appreciated!

Hi Mitchmel

It sounds like you might qualify for the family sponsorshop visa. If your fiance has a work/ residence permit for Qatar he can sponsor you for a residence visa. Have a look at our Visas for Qatar page for more information.

Just remember that this visa will not give you the right to work in Qatar, you will have to apply for a work permit seperately once in Qatar.

Good luck!

For more information on tourist visas, please take a look at our Visas for Qatar page.

Nationals of GCC countries and a few others can receive their tourist visa on the border, nationals of other countries will need to make a prior application.

Good luck

Hello Expat Arrival readers! I am Mechanical Engineer and currently residing in Hyderabad, Pakistan. Right now the most appealing option is Qatar to move. I was searching for jobs on line and I have been selected for the post of Project Engineer but the HR Dept. says we are having problem to get visa for Pakistan from the government because you are Pakistani nationality holders. I have an experience of an engineering in Pakistan and KSA for 10 years. I do not have any family living in Qatar or friends. I would be very grateful if anyone could guide me about this situation and how to get Qatar visa from Pakistan. Any additional basic guide would be very helpful too! Thank you so much!!
