Healthcare in Dubai

Healthcare in Dubai is first rate with modern hospitals and a new enormous medical centre the size of a small city appropriately named Dubai Healthcare city. The large complex of medical buildings and institutions was recently built including hospitals, clinics, teaching and research facilities, pharmacies and partnerships with Boston University and Harvard Medical School.

Healthcare is nearly free for UAE nationals and expatriate residents of Dubai although many businesses will offer additional health insurance. Depending on the condition, specialised treatment is often best done in home countries. Most public hospitals in Dubai are of good quality although most expats usually choose private medical centres. English is commonly spoken and much of the medical staff are expatriates themselves.
