Hi Dee-

I don't have kids going to the school, nor am I located there, but I recently had to conduct a fair amount of research on the school for a project. What I can tell you is that the school is relatively young (only opened in 2009), and the consensus from parents seem to be that the initial headmaster appointed by the school was a poor manager. However, that person has left and has now been replaced by a woman named Lesley-Ann Wallace who everyone seems to be extremely happy with. It seems like she's sorted out the teething problems that initially troubled the institution and that she runs a pretty tight ship.

The school seems to be especially good for primary school students (which is a category that your son would fit nicely into), whereas the secondary school is still getting fully sorted.

Nord Anglia is a well-respected international network, and I think that it would be a good choice to send your child to this school

My children are currently going to BISAD, they are currently in FS1 and FS2 which is a bit younger than your son. We are very happy with the school. The kids are thriving! I do agree that there are potential some concerns with the secondary school, however the new headmaster and teachers definitely seem to be fixing that and I would definitely recommend the school. Of course what I have also learnt living in abu Dhabi for the last 18 months is that what works for you does not necassarily work for other parents :)

Hello. My daughter is in Year 3 at BISAD and we are very happy with her progress, with her teachers and the school as a whole.

We find the current principal is ignorant of parents comments and their homework policy is geared so that kids never get a break from school work. There was nothing wrong with the o original principal so please get your facts straight. He was removed by an Emirati because the principal suspended an emirate boy for stabbing another child in the hand with a compass.

Nothing wrong with the original principal....are you kidding me??!! He was terrible!!! The current Principal has an open door policy, she has built up trust with parents and is very caring towards to children. Homework is arranged fairly and geared towards helping the children learn and not where they never get a break! Kids have it too easy these days, homework is a part of Independent learning and reiterates what is going on in the classroom. The school is very good and us plus many more families are very happy here.

Nordanglia is a for profit company, lots of profit, made over the backs of children and teachers. Strong english bias, anything else is a liability.
