I am currently 17 but I am turning 18 in a couple of months and would like to move to Dubai. However, I do have some concerns about my possible move. First of all, what do I need to obtain in order to stay, live, and work in Dubai? I am planning on staying for approximately 1 year, so do I need to obtain a visa and if yes what kind? Furthermore, I would also like to work as I need to earn an income to pay for housing and living expenses. Where would be the best place to look for jobs? Lastly, I also need to find somewhere to live. So where would the best place be for me to look for somewhere to live? I would prefer to pay monthly, rather than quarterly or yearly as it would easier to merely pay monthly. Is there anything else that I am forgetting or anything else that I need to consider?

Hi Neta,

Our Dubai City Guide should be able to answer most of you questions on accommodation and cost of living.

You should try to secure a job before moving to Dubai and I think the internet is the best place to begin. Your employer will play an important role in sposoring you and helping you apply for the relavent visa.

Good luck.

If you are turning 18 and have no college education then getting a job will be hard for you. In order to live in Dubai you will need to get a visa unless you are from countries mentioned above. However even then you will need a visa that you will continuously change. In order to get a visa you either have to be an investor in Dubai or have a job. If you do get a job with just high school education the pay will not be sufficient enough for you to afford the lifestyle in Dubai. However if you possess unique and highly demanded skills and capabilities then more power to you and welcome to Dubai.
