Hi Farhat,

The best place for you to begin your search for work in Riyadh would be online. There are a number of reputable job portals focused on the Saudi job market such as moster.com and gulfjobhunt.com.

You can also consider sending your CV to a specialist job agency which can steer you in the right direction.

Remember it really is essential that you secure the right job offer before taking steps to move to Saudi Arabia. All expats need a sponsor to live, work or even visit the country.

To find out more about how to get a job in Riyadh and also some useful tips about Saudi business etiquette, I would suggest you take a look at the Expat Arrivals page on Working in Riyadh.

Please do let me know if you have any more questions.

Best of luck with the job hunt.

I am seeking employment in a training and development role within healthcare. I am educated to masters level. I have registered and applied for many positions but still no-one has got back to me. I have an iqama and not not require accomodation as my husband lives and works in Riyadh. Any advice and help in securing employment would be appreciated. Lorraine

Hi Lorraine,

It is not easy to get a job in Saudi Arabia as a women. Unfortunately, society is quite patriarchal. Although women are allowed to work, the fact is that unless you have highly sought-after skills, the chances are a company will prefer to hire a man for the job.

Seeing as you already have the iquama and your accommodation sorted, this she put you at an advantage. In the past, trailing spouses have found jobs teaching English or at one of the international schools. However, the authorities are even beginning to clamp down on this too.

Stay persistant and hopefully in time you should come right in the end. Good luck.
