I have been hired by a School in Italy to teach English I have started the Italian work Visa process, with application and fee. The Italian Ministry is requesting my itinerary. Since I am waiting to get my visa, I have yet to book a flight. Does anyone know if this is this standard procedure? There is always a chance I could get rejected? Thanks

Most EU visa applications require a plane ticket as proof of date of arrival. Some may even require a return ticket. The ticket must be purchased and the receipt/proof of purchase shown with a complete itinerary. They may also ask for proof of housing upon arrival, but you can use a hotel/hostel reservation for that part.
