Hi Gracy,

It is not advisable to enter Qatar on a tourist visa in the hope that you will get a job once you arrive. It is better to try to get a job offer before you arrive in Qatar as your employer will need to act as a sponser for your work permit.

Furthermore, job-hopping in Qatar is not easy - as your employer has to go throught a great deal of effort to support your visa application they won't be to happy if you then go and resign in favour of a more suitable job offer. If you do decide to change jobs you will need a letter of no objection from the initial employer and in most cases employers are unlikely to give expats this document which results in the expat having to leave Qatar and then reapply for their work permit.
To save yourself the hassle, its best to accept a job offer that you think you will be happy with for at least sometime.

For more information I recommend reading the Visas for Qatar page. The Working in Qatar page also contains some more detailed information on the topic.

Good luck.
