Hi Sriniviasan,

Firstly, you didn't say what field you were looking for a job in. This will obviously determine your prospects and how you go about getting a job.

There are lots of jobs available for skilled expats in Abu Dhabi. I would suggest looking at a companies website or some online job sites to figure out what is available in your field. Our Working in Abu Dhabi page contains lots of useful information on the job market.

While it is possible to come into the country on a tourist visa and then look for a job, this is not advisable as it may end up being a wasted trip. The government are now trying to hire locals first, so its best you secure your position before making the move.

Once you've secured a position, you will need to get a work permit. In most cases, the employer will be able to assist with this. You will then receive an entry permit, which will allow you to enter the UAE. The next step once in the country will be to take the necessary medical tests before you get the final approval. Read the Expat Arrival's pages on Work Permits for Abu Dhabi and Visas for Abu Dhabi for more detailed information.

Good luck and if you have any more questions let us know.
