Hi again

Thanks for the help on the healthcare question. Athens or Thessaloniki it is. I'll just have to stay away from the protests. I have to admit, I am a bit worried about the financial situation there. Will my money be safe in a bank over there? Or can I keep my account in the UK?

Thanks again

Hi Phil,

Sorry for the delay. Many expats do choose to have two accounts. If you want to buy a house, however, you'll need to have a Greek bank account. For more info, see our Banking, Money and Taxes in Greece page.

Hope that helps
