What is the cost of internet usage and quality of it? Is there all sites can I surf or download any x rated material? should I allow to bring x rated material while I m transfering there from airport?

Internet censorship is quite strict in Saudi Arabia, and many sites are blocked, especially those of a pronographic nature. I'd definitely recommend leaving the x-rated stuff at home - the import of pornographic materials into Saudi Arabia is fobidden. If you're caught it's going to be confiscated.

Most expats who wish to get around the internet censorship make use of an ISP from another country or create a VPN. But this can be a very expensive option. I suggest having a read of our Keeping in touch in Saudi Arabia page for more details on the internet and communications in the Kingdom.
