I'm visiting Dehli for business next month and I'm wondering if it's worth hiring a car while I'm there, os is the traffic insane? I haven't heard too many great things about transport in India. What's the best way of getting around Delhi?

Hi Sally

You should ask your company if they would sponsor a hired car and a driver while you're in Delhi. Many middle-income expats in India find that keeping a personal driver on their payroll is well worth the expense.

Take a look at the Getting around in Delhi page for more info.

Traffic in Delhi can get a bit getting used to if you are driving for the first time in the city. The Delhi Metro is pretty easy and convenient to get to places depending on where you are going. And it has separate coaches for women so its quite convenient as well as it will allow you to escape the general crowd specially during rush hours. S o yeah.. just see what is best for you.

Delhi Metro is the bestest way to get around in Delhi. Personal driver for per day wages may be a good option.
