Hi Surya,

You didn't say what field of work you would be going into. This will obviously effect how good the offer is.

Accommodation would be your biggest expense and this varies dramatically depending on where you choose to live. For example a 2 bedroom place in Al Khor can cost you as little as QAR 5000 per month but in a more popular area like West Bay 2 bedroom places go for up to QAR 17,000 per month.

I'd advise you to read our Cost of Living in Qatar

You mentioned that your children's education would be a priority. Tuition fees at international schools can be steep and range from QAR 15,000 per year to QAR 65,000. It might be a good idea to negotiate an allowance for school fees into the contract.

Take a look at the Education and Schools in Qatar page for more information.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi Anonymous, whether you're able to save on this salary all depends on your own lifestyle and needs and what your monthly expenses are. I suggest you see Shantalie's comments above and the links that she has provided to our Cost of Living in Qatar page.
