Hi All, I recently shifted to Abu Dhabi to join one of the government entity. I got the residence visa on my Indian passport 2 weeks back. Now, I am planning to call my brother and his wife on a VISIT VISA. When I inquired about this in my office, they said that I can't sponsor my brother. I need to get it through any airlines or any hotel. I have read through the internet and have got mixed opinions. Can anyone shed some light on the process for getting Visit Visa for family members. Thanks in advance

Hi Saeed, whether they need a visa depends on what passports your family will be travelling to Abu Dhabi on. In order to be eligible to sponsor your brother you need to hold a valid residency employment visa.  There are a few other requirements to sponsor your family to check out our Visas for Abu Dhabu page for more info.

Good luck! I've heard the process to sponsor your family's visa can be a frustratingly slow one.

Hi Saeed

If your brother and his wife are travelling on Indian passports, it's true that you can't sponsor their visa. Their trip will need to be sponsored by a UAE citizen or a UAE company.

Easier way out: buy an ETIHAD or an EMIRATES ticket, and their agencies take care of the visas for you.
It will cost around 300 to 500 AED per person / 30 days stay.

Hope you've found the answer useful.
