Hi, I have a job offer of AED 10,000 per month in Abu Dhabi, no food or accommodation facility. What I feel is this is a less amount of salary I was offered and I won't be able to live with that. But I want to confirm it from others. I have another job offer in hand with INR 100,000 per month in Mumbai. I live normal middle class life style, neither miser nor spendthrift. I don't want to share accommodation with others. Please assist. Regards, Parth

Hi there!

Thanks for your question. While the difference in your two offers is fairly large, you'll find that the cost of living in Adu Dhabi is considerably higher than that of Mumbai.

It may be worth trying to negotiate a housing allowance, as your highest monthly expense in Abu Dhabi is going to be your accommodation. Another important factor is whether or not you have a family and children to support, as it is far easier to make ends meet as a single person.

I suggest going over our Cost of Living in Abu Dhabi page, which will give you a better idea of the expenses you'll encounter in daily life.

It may also be useful to compare your prospective salary with other expat salaries in the Middle East region, which can be done here.

Hopefully this information is of use and helps you make an informed decision. Best of luck!

Sincerely,
Bradley
