You're right in saying that a lot has to do with lifestyle choices, but on the surface, this package seems like a pretty good deal, especially as you are single and don't have a family or children's education to worry about. Furthermore, the fact that you have an accommodation alowance which includes your utilities as well as a transport allowance goes a long way to stretching your salary. It seems like all your basic expenses will be taken care of - health insurance, which a company is required by law to provide for you, is another expense you will be saved.

Dear Vye, As you have mentioned it all depends on lifestyle preferences, but still its a good package. Lets do a breakdown and take a look at it. Basic salary $52,000 - Which would be AED 191,360 or 15946 monthly. If you dont have any accomodation expenses the max you will have to spend would be AED10,000 even if you go out 4 days a week. Housing allowance $31,000 which is AED 114,000 and you can afford a good one bedroom apartment in a good locality. Expat allowance $5,900 : AED 21712, and i believe this might be a one time amount that you recieve as soon as you join. Which you can use for furnishing your apartment. Gratuity allowance $8,900 : AED 32752, which seems to be more than the usual . As per law the gratuity amount is 27 days pay after a year. One time relocation allowance $8,100 : seems to be a decent amount you need for relocation. Medical coverage provided : as per law 30 days paid vacation : as per labour law Water and electricity paid : thats a bonus, you can save AED 500 - AED 800 for a one bed room in a month 0% interest automobile loan provided up to 100,000 UAE. - Its an advantage too, you can use it as a downpayment to get a new car and the rest get an interest loan from the banks. Or if you would like to settle for a toyota or a honda you can easily afford one with 100,000. Hi Catherine I got a job offer with a monthly salary of around 18,000 AED (inclusive of housing allowance), free healthcare, free air ticket for 2 persons; i haven't got children but I am married. I maintain a simple lifestyle with very rare opulence indulgence. I would like to know whether this salary is attractive or not. Thanks for your time and kind feedback.
