Hi, I have been offered a salary of AED 26,000 with accommodation provided, the rest of the possible expenses will be coming out from my pocket (car, utilities, food, ticket, etc).

I'm a bachelor with no dependent, I don't live a luxury life but I'd like to go out sometimes.

At my current job I'm saving around USD 3000 monthly, do you think I will save more when I move to Abu Dhabi maintaining the same life style? Any comments are appreciated. Thank you.

Hi ChickenPOX,

The salary you receive will depend on your experience and position, but with a salary of AED 26,000 per month you should certainly be able to save a decent amount.

In Abu Dhabi your biggest expense will be your accommodation. at you'll spend at AED 8,000 per month. So you are making a significant saving there.

Public transport isn't brilliant in Abu Dhabi so you'll need a car to get around. To rent a small vehicle will cost around AED 2,500 per month.

The rest of your expenses will depend on your lifestyle.

I suggest you take a look at our Cost of Living in Abu Dhabi page. It provides you with an overview of expat expenses in Abu Dhabi.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

Shantalie

Saving US$3000/per month? And you want to move out? You nuts and greedy.

Absolutely I agree what kind of lunatic would want to move if being single is already saving $3000/pm.

Hi.. I really appreciate all the comments. Btw, I already took the job, so here I come Abu Dhabi.. :) First of all, no, I'm not greedy. I get where I am now is because I worked my ass off for the last 10 years, I earned what I achieved now, its a pure hard work, dedication and passion. I'm moving to AD and making a little bit more is because I deserved it, not because I'm greedy. There are always some people wondering why we move to another place when we are already comfortable on what we are doing now. Well, I believe u must cone out from your comfort zone in order to achieve something bigger. Yes I'm single and yes I saves 3000 USD every month, but its not a reason to stop me exploring another part of this beautiful world. So to answer your question what kind of lunatic would want to move if being single is already saving $3000/pm? I don't know the answer, I guess I'm one of a kind. ;) Shantalie, thanks for your information. I took the offer and very excited about it! Take care, CP

Hi Chickenpox, Well said. I just came across all the various comments and answers. A hardworking man deserves his success. All the best. BUT I feel anyone's success is NOT ONLY "pure hard work, dedication and passion" BUT THERE IS GOD IN THE EQUATION TOO SOMEWHERE.

Hi all, I've been approached by a cosmetic clinic in Abu Dhabi to work there as a beauty therapist/laser technician. Would anyone be able to tell me what you would consider an acceptable pay package for a single female with lots of work experience? Thanks a bunch :)
