Submitted by thedaveh1982 on
Destination: Czech Republic

I am currently looking to move to Prague with my partner. I am working in UK at the moment in a job which allows me to work remotely. When moving to Czech Republic is it possible for me to keep the job i currently have or do I have to look for a job in CZ.

If I can keep the job and work remotely in CZ what would I have to do in terms of government/taxes/applying for certain things?

Hi,

I recently arrived in Argentina and am not feeling well. I do not have medical insurance, but am afraid that I may need to go see a doctor one of these days. Will I be able to go to a hospital or a doctor's office? Is medical care in Argentina expensive?

Hi all, we just found out my husband got accepted for a job in Saudi Arabia. We don't have all of the details of the contract yet but I am pretty nervous. What living options do Westerners have in this country? What are the safest options? What steps can we take to get safe accommodation? Looking forward to any responses.

Can I work when on a D visa in Norway?

Expert Info

Submitted by kazi on
Destination: Norway

I got a D visa for Norway without a job offer. I applied for the visa to do business.

I received a visa letter without any restriction. There is no mentioned that I can do business while on this visa.

My question is, can I work while on that visa? Or can I only do business? Will I have any problems reapplying after 3 years?

Is Singapore or Kuala Lumpur a better expat destination for me?

Hi everyone,

I'm new her and thought about posting my situation as I would need to relocate to Asia for work. The choice is mine. I'm having to choose between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

My consideration are as follows:

1. I'm an American. I am single, no family and no kids.

2. I have to wrap up my life in the US - what all do I need to do from that perspective.

3. Where should I move and why?

4. I would be working out of home office as I have to cover the region for work.

Is malaria a problem in Lusaka and wider Zambia?

Expert Info

Destination: Zambia

Hi everyone,

I will soon be arriving in Zambia to take up a 2-year contract. I will be spending most of my time in Lusaka with occasional forays to other provinces.

I am concerned about malaria. What are the risks of contracting malaria in Lusaka? Do all expats religiously take prophylaxis? I'm concerned about long term chemo-prophylaxis and the toxicity dangers. Is it possible to rely solely on bite prevention - i.e. deet, clothes, nets etc.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Public kindergarten in Leuven

Expert Info

Submitted by morganh on
Destination: Belgium

Hi

I have read so many threads on so many forums  that I thought it maybe it’s time to get a direct answer. We are moving to Belgium early next year - my son will be 5 in Jan and my daughter is two. My husband’s job is in Leuven, we have never been to Belgium and from our reading decided that we would likely settle near Leuven. Please could you recommend some good schools in or around Leuven for me to apply to for them. Thanks.

Hi, I´m an amateur astrophotographer planning to take some of my astronomy equipment (telescope, guide scope, mount and astro-camera) when I visit the Kingdom next time. I know that telescopes are generally allowed in Saudi Arabia but I saw on some online-lists that telescopic equipment is forbidden to bring into the country.

Hi, Greetings of the Day!!

My husband is supposed to visit Johannesburg for an assignment. He is most probably going to have a critical skill/General work visa for the purpose, as his project is going to be around 2 years.

Me having a spouse visa, can I apply for a work permit for South Africa?

Can I obtain a work permit by paying myself or through a consultancy like in USA for H1B? OR in South Africa also I need to have sponsorship from the employer?

I am married to a Colombian lady and we have lived in the USA for 8 years.  She wants to move to Bogota, I like the weather there, not much for hot weather.

I had an ID as a spouse in Colombia that has expired since being in USA.  When do I have to renew this ID, before I go (through the Colombian embassy or soon after I get there.  Length of stay is not determined but should be more that 1 year.
