419 Nigerian Scam?

I recently received a job offer to be the Retail Manager of a compay called Legatrix in Nigeria. I didn't apply for any jobs with the company and I'm not sure how they got my email. Currently I manage a Gap Store in Garden City, New Jersey. As much as I'd like to see the world, I'm not sure if Nigeria is the best place for me or if this offer is legitimate. I've never heard of Legatrix, but I assume they're some sort of sporting good store - leggins have really taken off over the last few years. Also, they've asked me for some important information that I don't usually give out, like my banking details. But if I'm not yet earning a salary why do they need my banking details. Is this a scam?

You are being scammed - stop, drop and roll. Okay, maybe that's actually what you do when you're on fire, but it's kind of the same - your life will go up in flames if you continue. Legatrix does not sell leggins, nor do they need a retail manager. They simply want you to give them your account details so they can still any money you may have accummulated over the course of your enslavement at GAP Garden City. Sorry if this is harsh, but it's the truth. Nigerian scams are common and it's important to report them and carry on with your life. If you don't believe me, the best thing to do is to phone the Nigerian Embassy and to ask them if Legatrix is a valid company in the country. They can then confirm or deny what's happening.

My husband has been offered a job at a farm 450 km from Ajuba - he will get a 3 bedroom furnished house, fuel allowance, lights, water, DSTV and internet, a salary of $6500.00 and a monthly living allowance of R7500,00 (South African) and two flights home to RSA per year - do you think this is worthwhile and can he survive on this and still send money home?

This sounds like a fairly standard contract.
These conditions are the standard for Expats in Nigeria and the R7500 is about N150,000. and is enough to live on if he is on a farm. (It is not enough for Lagos or City life) The whole salary would be paid into his bank in overseas. That is the normal proceedure. I don't know when this was posted but it may help other people.
