We are currently writing a guide to international and private schools in Johannesburg which might be of interest to expat parents with kids looking to move to Johannesburg. Any expat parent reviews or South African parent reviews of schools in Johannesburg would be welcome.

We are particularly interested in the following:

Brescia House
British International School
Charterhouse
Roedean
St Davids
St Peters College
St Johns College

Also, any suggestions for other good schools we should look into? Any insights welcome!

Hi Kader Lo

The schools listed above are high schools. You can read Private Schools in Johannesburg and also download the FREE Expat Arrivals guide to schools in Johannesburg for more information about how to attend a school in Johannesburg.

If you are interested in attending a university, you can check the web sites of the Johannesburg universities like University of Johannesburg (www.uj.ac.za/EN/Pages/Home.aspx) or Wits (www.wits.ac.za/internationalstudents).

Good luck!

Gaby - I can only speak for Dainfern College, and would be happy to write a review. It's an excellent school, one of the best in my opinion, but not with the same name recognition as some of your suggestions because much newer. Any guidelines?

Dear Gabby We are an independent pre-primary school in Sandton, Johannesburg. We are registered with ISASA which is an independent Association of top-quality schools that include schools such as : Roedean, St John's and St Stithians. We have a strong team of graduate educators that have specialized in preschool education and assit the children in reaching their personal best in all key learning areas. Please feel free to view our website www.stepping.co.za. We have a number of expat families in our school community. I will happily take you on a school tour should you be in Johannesburg.
