Hi, I live in Bergen, Norway. My husband and I will be here for six months for his job. I used to work as a nurse and I would love to learn Norwegian while I am here. Any suggestions for free or low cost tutoring either online or in person. Also, it would be nice to meet up with some other people while I am here. Thanks.

Hi there

Have a look at our Culture Shock in Norway page, where you'll find links to a few organisations that offer language and acculturation classes.

The most popular, or at least recognised, option is arguably the Folkeuniversitetet which offers classes in Norweigan either in the mornings or the evenings. I think registration deadlines might have passed, but hopefully they can tell you either when you could next register or where else you could try.

Good luck!
