I have recently finished my education in America and have moved to Norway about 6 months ago. I have been reading up about being a sex educator and apparently in US and Canada if you take a separate 2 week course you can become qualified to become one if your education permits. I've tried to find info about it here, but anything I read about Norwegian sex education has led me in the direction of saying a biology teacher will generally teach it as part of the course. So if that is true are there no sex educators? Can I take a course to become qualified or certified as a sex educator in Norway? If anyone has any information on this I would GREATLY appreciate it!

There's no need for a position called "sex educator" in Norway. It's part of the biology classes and covered in detail there. I fail to understand your logic :( You usually need quite a bit of formal education to work in Norwegian schools (years at a Norwegian teacher's college).

Okay thanks for updating me. I've asked other Norwegians here about it and I'm told the same, it's only taught in biology classes. In America, it's a separate person who goes into schools and teaches age-appropriate info to children. They teach not only about reproduction, but also peer pressure, general health, mental health and bullying. What I've read about this path in career at least in America and Canada is after obtaining a Bachelor's one can go on to this course to be trained as a sex educator. I hope this helps you understand my logic. :-) I've completed my Bachelor's in Psychology and Sexuality Studies and was just thinking of possible career paths when I came across that and was just wondering if it were the same in Norway. Thanks!
