Hi folks

Do any expat parents on this forum have kids at the ISS International School in Singapore? Word on the street is the school's "less stressful" than the top-tier international schools like UWCSEA or Tanglin Trust. Does that mean the standard's lower? And even if it does, is that a reason to avoid it, seeing as standards at schools in Singapore are pretty high anyway? Any insights welcome!

My kids do not go to IIS International School but I believe it is well respected - I have friends who have children there and they seem to be happy.

The main attraction of ISS is that it is one of the few smaller schools, at approx 750 students. This is something that is very attractive to parents, given that many of the alternatives are quite simply huge! In terms of being 'less stressful' I should think that varies from school to school & teacher to teacher. I think the key is to find a school environment that suits your child, & the level of pressure should be one that everyone is happy with. It's important not too rely to heavily on other peoples opinions of other schools & to make sure that you visit as many as possible & form your own opinions. Anne Murphy, ITS Education Services.
