Hello

I will be moving to San Francisco on a fixed contract for two years. I know by reputation that the city is very hilly and walking long distances won't be fun for someone who isn't very active (like myself).

Is the public transportation system in San Francisco good enough for me not to have to get a car? I would prefer not to have to make such a large investment if I'm only going to be staying in the city for a short time.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Hi - I am an insurance professional. I have been offered a salary of 54000 QR in Doha, of which 42,000 is basic wage, 10000 accommodation allowance and the balance for transport and communication. Apart from this the company will give me 21000 QR for education for each child, I have 4 kids. One month gratuity (Basic wage) after a year and two months bonus - this is the basic wage only. Is this a good salary ? The rent of a suitable villa is 20000 QR a month - to maintain our standard of living.

Moving to Geneva in July with young children, working in centre near Gare du Cornavin. Know v little about the area. Have found possible places to rent in Annemasse, Bogis-Bossey, Chas sur Leman & Prevessin. Does anyone have any advice on which would be nicest area for children to live in, one with a friendly community? Also how easy it is to commute to centre of Geneva from these areas? Hi, the salary offered to me is 15000 SAR per month. this includes housing allowance and family allowance and transport allowance...the company is not providing housing facility nor is it giving child education. would a family of 3 (myself, wife and a daughter) be able to survive + save in this salary?? plz note medical expenses would be covered by company. plz suggest, as i have to answer them for accepting the offer. they are not ready to revise the offer. Desperate for some inside tips and helpful ways to try and secure a rental property in Christchurch. Am well aware of trademe. Have registered with a few agents but i think they are so overwhelmed with potential tennants they dont need to be responsive. This is not EQR/insurance covered either. Unfortunately the people needing the property dont always have easy internet access and are getting v discouraged that every open house that's half decent has 20 people lined up competing.

My daughter is just 5 and coming to the age where she would be transferring to a UK school, she will officially be of school age in September 2014 bu not eligible for school in denmark until at least September of next year.

Does anyone know the regulations regarding 2-3 weeks visits back to the Uk every other month where officially she should be in school? I'd rather she went to a child minder for the time in the UK rather than enrol in a school for such a short period
