Are there any schools is Abu Dhabi that offer vocational course for my 16 year old son?

Hi there,my husband is thinking of perhaps taking a job in Abu Dhabi next year and I'm desperately worried about our son. He will be 16 then and will be just at the stage of starting college. He is not an academic boy and wants to do some sort of vocational course such as plumbing, however, he's not sure what yet. I've googled for information on British international schools with vocational courses and not found anything. Surely there must be something, not all kids are academic. I'd really appreciate any help and advice on offer. Many thanks. April

What is a good salary in Abu Dhabi?

Destination: Abu Dhabi

My husband was offered a job w/ an annual salary of 440,000 AED 132,000 AED for housing, 3,600/month for car, some travel paid, and medical insurance provided for family. We currently live in the US. We have two school aged children & I hope to get some education paid for in the contract. I was just wondering if this is a good offer for Abu Dhabi? We are not an extravagant family but would love to be able to enjoy the area and still save while there. Thank you for any help!

Is Cape Town expensive?

HI I am heading over the Cape Town to live for a year. I am coming over with 13,000 NZD Dollars which is about 110,000R. I also have a job at a school but is not a well paid job as I just want the experience. That jobs pays about 3500R a month. Can I survive on this amount for a year and still be able to do a few cool trips???

What is the attitude towards mixed race families in Qatar?

We are white, and adopted our brown daughter at birth. She is already 7 and in grd 2 in South Africa. Moving to Qatar for work during next few months. Will we experience any "ugliness" because we are a mixed race family? Will the local culture frown upon it?

What should be included in my employment package for Singapore?

Hi All company is looking at moving me over Qtr 1/2 2014, my current Net pay is AUD$9000/month. I have travel to Singapore numerous times over the last 18 months so know the city center and airport but that’s about it. Office is located along Beach Rd The Concourse. My wife and two boys (1.5 and 3.5 yo) will be joining. Wife is has now finished early teaching degree, but no experience graduates now. My boys are both in child care 2-3 days a week and we would like continue this for social interaction and their development.

What do I need to consider before moving to New Zealand?

Hello all! I am thinking of visiting New Zealand for a short holiday (maybe 1 or 2 months) and then perhaps considering a longer stay (1 to 2 years) if I find it to my liking. I don't particularly like where I come from (Singapore) and apartment/house rentals are incredibly expensive here as well, making New Zealand an attractive destination for me. However, I'd like to know more about the country before I do anything, considering that I have never visited it before and do not know anyone from NZ either. :) Hence my post! Job Offer in UAE - Is AED 35,000 a good salary?

My current salary in the US is $128K ($10,650 per month). I've been offered a position in Abu Dhabi with a basic salary of AED 21,000 and allowances of AED 14,000. Is this a good salary or a comparable salary to my US salary since my US salary is taxed whereas the AED 35,000 is tax free. My family consists of four (wife, 4-yr old daughter, newborn, and myself). I'm a civil engineer with 10+ yrs of experience, including several professional licenses, and an MBA. So is AED 35,000 a good monthly salary and will it allow me to live a good lifestyle in UAE?

Advice and tips on getting utilities & internet connected quickly in Melbourne?

Destination: Melbourne

We are a mature academic couple from Europe coming to Melbourne for the first time. We'll arrive next month to a 3-month short-term rental house (eastern suburbs) and we need to get the water, gas, electric & internet connected as quickly (and painlessly, and preferably cheaply) as possible. The rental starts the day we arrive, and it would be nice to have a working house right away! Is this possible? I've seen ads for Connectnow and directconnect, but it's hard to know what to do and how to do it. We just need a basic level of service, nothing super luxurious or complicated.

Will I be able to keep pets in Lagos?

Hi my boyfriend and i are potentially going to relocating to Lagos early next year. I am trying to tract down information about keeping dogs. We have a Large Tibetan Mastiff cross 3 year old male who would travel with us. Are there places that are safe enough with a small garden or even walking areas? We are also looking to have our first child next year, whilst I certainky wouldn't have baby in Lagos, is there sufficient support in place if I was to move back once baby was about 3 months old? South African schools compared to UK
