Are Ukranians racist to Asians?

Expert Info

Hey guys, we are thinking of moving to Kiev as I have been offered a position at a school there, but there are a few things that I'm worried about. I have heard terrible things that Ukranians are racist, especially towards Asian people. This concerns me, as even though both me and my boyfriend are American, he is of Chinese decent, and if we're going to be living there, I don't want to be fearful of how we will be treated. Also, I hear corruption is a problem. Will this affect us? Has anyone had any experience of this?

Hi, We are moving to Stavanger for my husband's job. Decision is whether to go before or after birth of first baby. Do you think midwives/Drs will speak English? How long do they normally keep you in hospital after birth. Are there any big differences between birthing in UK and Norway? Thanks in advance Catriona

Advice on renting London property?

Expert Info

Destination: London
I am looking to let out a property of mine in London and I have found an excellent company called Thames Property Management... has anyone on here used them before? They seem very fair priced and qualified. It looks like a quality service for international landlords who have property in London and finds tenants. Worth checking out, as very fair fees.

Hello all, We would be moving to Aus soon on a 457 visa (Brisbane). I googled for info and found that education in Australia comes at a prices for Temporary residents unlike Home (Canada) where education is free immaterial of status. Can someone guide the annual cost of education for Private/Public/Catholic schools. The information on net is pretty discreet and unclear. Thank you for your time in writing this info. Your help is appreciated. Zeline

I am a Ghanaian qualified electrician with couple of experience on both offshore and onshore. I am also multi-skilled in various trades and would like the opportunity to prove what merits I can bring to your team. I would also like the opportunity to extend my skills and gain further experience within your establishment. I would relish the prospect of working for your successful company as I believe that your support and expertise would help me in reaching my full potential and becoming a successful member of your organisation.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and wanted some advise on making home improvements in Estonia. I am looking to do up a friends kitchen that has seen better days. i was wanting to use a UK based company to order the goods out to Estonia and i have found one i know and trust called screwfix that deliver to Europe. I'm unsure whether all of the goods i order will be compatible with standard Estonian fittings. Does anyone have any ideas on this subject as the friend that i am doing it for has no idea and is struggling to find an answer himself. Thanks. Jake

Canadians Living & Working in the UAE

Expert Info

I'm a Canadian, and have been working in the UAE, on Mission Visas for the past 6 months. I've recently been asked by my company (our UAE Division) to look into getting a Residency Visa for the UAE, so that we can cut down on the Travel, and the red tape associated with servicing our customers in the entire Middle east. My question is how will a UAE Residence Visa affect my Canadian Citizen Status ? Will I have to sell off my Canadian assets to do this? Can anyone point me in the right direction, on how to acquire this information ? The CRA website is very limited, and vague, at best !

Hi everyone

I am planning to move to South Korea to teach English this year but since hearing everything in the media about North Korea's threats I have been rethinking my decision.

Is there anyone currently living in South Korea that knows more about the situation in North Korea and if it's something I need to worry about?

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

After ending a Life Partner with SA citizen, then what?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Cape Town
Hi, I am currently in a life partner with a SA citizen which means I get to reside in the country on a Life Partner visa. If I want to end this, how does it work? And if I want to work in Cape Town, do I have to leave the country first then come back as a tourist and apply for a work permit or is there a possibility of sorting out my work permit beforehand? I am also aware that it is possible to obtain a work permit more easily based on the Life Partner visa, which is something I do NOT want (as this would automatically be invalid when the relationship ends).

Best location, school and job scenario in Adelaide?

Expert Info

Destination: Adelaide
Hi, I will be shifting with my husband and daughter(6 yrs) to Adelaide by June 2013. I have certain queries: 1. I want to find out about the best location with good school, reasonable rent and an area which is child-friendly and has ease of travel, initially we might not have private transport. 2.My husband is a project manager in an IT FIRM. Would like to also know if the job scenario for such requirement is there? Is it better to get a job in hand and then land in Adelaide or better to come and search for the same?
