Jobs in Colombia?

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: Colombia
Hi there,

I was wondering whether there are any expats living in Colombia that could give me any advice on working in Colombia. I want to take a year or two out so that I can explore Colombia.

I've been spent some time in Argentina and Brazil and would like to try somewhere new. Most of the people that I know have gone to South America to work as English teachers. Would expats in Colombia recommend teaching English? How would you go about applying for a position?

Starting a business in Croatia?

Hi there,

I was wondering whether there are any expats living in Croatia that could advise me. I went to Croatia for 3 weeks over the summer and totally fell in love with the country.

I felt it was the perfect place to set up my own business. I am keen to set up a small guesthouse for travellers and I've got 10 years experience in the hospitality trade.

Has anyone else set up a business in Croatia. What permits do I need ? Is it straightforward to get the documentation ?

Thanks.

Sex Educators in Norway

Destination: Norway
I have recently finished my education in America and have moved to Norway about 6 months ago. I have been reading up about being a sex educator and apparently in US and Canada if you take a separate 2 week course you can become qualified to become one if your education permits. I've tried to find info about it here, but anything I read about Norwegian sex education has led me in the direction of saying a biology teacher will generally teach it as part of the course. So if that is true are there no sex educators?

Hi all, myself (age 43) and my partner (40) and daughter (8) are looking to relocate to Spain, preferably barcelona, in July/August 2013 & are keen to find out all we can regarding schools, we cannot afford to send Maddy to an international school but have been told about public schools possibly accepting her or semi-private schools, any info gratefully received. Also, is it legal for me to continue running my own business, UK based, from Spain without having to pay any Spanish taxes? Any info on any subject you think is relevant would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance Spencer

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of living in Ecuador ? I have a job offer to teach English in Quito. The country looks amazing and I am totally excited about the opportunity. However, as a single girl I do have concerns about my safety. I've heard about violent crimes against tourists and foreigners. Is it safe to go out at night ?

Please let me know about your experiences.

Salary requirements for a comfortable life in Udaipur

Expert Info

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Destination: India
I have a tentative offer for a job as an instructional designer in Udaipur, Rajasthan. I don't know what perks, if any, are included at this point, but the recruiter said I should expect to make 1/10th to 1/12th of the salary I would be paid for this type of work in the US. Since I would make between $50k and $70k in the US for this work, he is essentially telling me I would only make the equivalent of $5k to $7k USD doing the same work in Udaipur. At the high end, this would equal about 375,000 rupees. Does this sound accurate, in terms of his estimation of my salary needs in Udaipur?

Hi everyone! I am moving to Florence, Italy in April and starting at a small art school. I just have a few questions that I was hoping you all could help me out with. As far as the student visa application goes, do I need to find an apartment prior to arriving in Florence or can I just show up and look for a place once I arrive? Second, I am looking for a room in a house to rent with local Italian people. I would prefer a house with 2 or more other Italians that are around the age of 25.
