Hi. I am new here.

I am looking to possibly buy a little one-bedroom apartment in Mallorca within the next year. Just looking for as much information as I can find.

Does anyone have info on mortgages, taxes, electricity, water, gas costs on average, and anything/anyone that I would need to pay each month?

Thanks a lot for your help

Hi Paul!

Mallorca will be a beautiful place to buy a new home! Our guides don't give specific info on buying an apartment in Mallorca, but you can look at our Accommodation in Spain for some tips, as well as the Cost of Living in Spain to get an idea of utilities costs – these are based on Madrid, but you can check out sites like Numbeo and Expatistan for cost of living info on Mallorca specifically and compare it to your home city. Where are you from and have you been to Mallorca before? I also recommend you read through Banking, Money and Taxes in Spain.

When buying a home it's useful to go through a real estate agent as well as a lawyer with specific knowledge in Spanish property law and a grasp of the Spanish language, as contracts may need to be signed in Spanish.

Have you checked out our Expat Arrivals Moving to Mallorca guide? It gives some general info on getting around, importing a car and the lifestyle on the island.

Hope this helps? Maybe someone else on the forum has more advice to give!

Good luck!
