Actually my employer has applied for my work permit and the application is still under process. But I want to take my wife and child along with me for 1 month. So I wanted to know if I can apply tourist visa for them before work permit is granted to me. Or I can apply for them only when I have the UDI approval and the visa is stamped on my passport. Hi there,

If your wife and child are coming to Norway  purely for a holiday she can apply for a tourist visa independently of your work visa. You can read our visas for Norway page to learn more about the process.

If you are looking for her to settle down in the long-term, I would advise you to contact the Norwegian embassy to find out where you stand.

What are your plans? Is she coming for a short visit and then considering extending her stay?
