I recently arrived in KL from the UK with my partener as he has a job here. I have been finding it hard to find a suitable job as I don't have a degree, I do have a foundation degree which is in IT, Physics and Quantitative Methodods however my experience is in both working in a school with children aged 3-11 and in administration with the Inland Revenue in the UK. Most of the job posts I see require a degree however I am 33 now and have alot of work experience but this doesn't seem to count for much. Any help or advice in the right direction would be great. Thanks Louise

Have you considered teaching English in Kuala Lumpur? As you're already there, you can even go to drop off your CV in person, which is a huge advantage.

I am sure there are companies that do not require degrees. I have obtained work permits for Expats with only a diploma but have at least 7years experience and we managed to obtain approvals for them. Perhaps you have to target companies that require your skills and email or call them to send in your CVs. If they really require your skills they will pay for your work permit. Best of luck.. Hi once you get a job in Malaysia and your employer sponsors your work permit they will need to also sponsor your dependants and your husband is a dependant.. once he has a dependant visa.. he can find a job in Malaysia and then switch his dependant visa to a work permit in Malaysia.
