My husband and I are looking to move to Abu Dhabi. We have 4 years experience working in an international school. We are wondering if anyone can advise us on good international schools to work in. We are interested in British and American curriculum schools. Thanks in advance

Perhaps it would be helpful to include what would make a school a good school in Abu Dhabi to work in, in your opinion. Things like salary, morale, teaching philosophy. Also, what age kids would you want to work with?

Hi Stephine, thank you for your answer. Well my husband works and is experienced in both primary and secondary. I am interested and I have experience in EYFS. Well salary is of course a major factor but, we want a school that has a good reputation and a happy workforce as we are coming from a very depressed school with low morale as the school does not take on board staff opinions and suggestions. Also, resources is a massive factor as our current school has limited/no resources.

I would suggest looking at the following schools:
  • Glenelg - http://www.gsad.sch.ae/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=50&Itemid=100
  • GEMS American Academy - https://careers.gemseducation.com/User/SearchJobs.aspx
  • British School of Abu Dhabi Al Khubairat - http://www.britishschool.sch.ae/jobs.asp?pid=0&t_id=10&m_id=48
  • American Community School - http://acs.sch.ae/acsvipers/
  • Brighton College(not a college) - http://www.brightoncollegeabudhabi.net/staff-vacancies

I would second Cristy's listing. In particular, the British School of Abu Dhabi Al Khubairat seems to have a really good reputation among expats. Also, if you want some insight into the way the GEMS school is run, the principal - Ian Deakin, has posted an interview on our site - "Expert Advice from Ian Deakin".

Good luck!
