Hi, I just received an salary offer to move to Sohar, It´s 1234,50 OR as basic salary plus 575,5 OR for allowance per month. I´ll be taking my family with me, so what I really need to know is if that ammount of money is good enough to live in Oman with my familly. Can anyone give me an idea on how much do I need to have a decent life in Sohar and be able to save money for the future? Thank You very much.

Hi thenewguyintown, whether this salary will sustain you and your family in Oman largely depends on your family's lifestyle and basic needs. Your biggest expensses in Oman are likely to be accommodation and your kids education, and with the salary you mentioned, it's likely that after all your expenses there is not likely to be too much left over for any real savings. I suggest you take a look at our guide to the Cost of Living in Oman to figure out what it's going to cost you to live there.
