Sir, As per Oman labour law for expatiates, who is responsible for air ticket fare (nearest airport) – employee or employer? My company is giving only 140 OMR balance – fare is deducted from salary.

Please help me,

Hi Sangeeth

Unfortunately, from what I could find, there is no specific statute in the labour law handbook available on the Omani Ministry of Manpower's website regarding who is responsible for airfare.

As you would be able to see in our Working in Oman and Pros and Cons of Moving to Oman pages, the local business environment seems to be skewed more towards employers than many expats are accustomed to.

I've put  this question on our social media channels - hopefully someone with first hand experience with this can give us some insights.

Good luck,

Xavier
