Hi all,

Is medical care free in Bahrain? I am moving from the UAE, where my employer provides free medical insurance.

I was told medical aid in Bahrain will be free. Is this true, or will I have to look for medical coverage by myself?

Regards,

Zeeshan

Hi Z,

Is your employer paying towards the state for your public care, or are they for private insurance? What coverage are they providing?

This Expat Arrivals page on healthcare in Bahrain provides an overview of medical care in the country.

From what I can see, your public healthcare will be subsidised. It won't be completely free, but it will be quite affordable.

I'm not sure how much the public system subsidises specialist treatment.
