Hello,
We are planning to take Turkish Citizenship. We at present are Indian Citizens, living in Kolkata, India. My family comprises of my father, mother, spouse, and two school going kids. My parents are senior citizens and need frequent medical assistance. My kids are studying in class 10 & 8 respectively. Which area in Istanbul would be suitable for us to buy an apartment and settle down? We want live in an area which is close to hospitals, school, college, shops and public transport like metro. Please help us to identify a suitable area in Istanbul. Thanks in advance.
Hello! There are a number of neighbourhoods to choose from in and around Istanbul. Central areas typically have good access to amenities, such as shops and transport. Beyoglu and Sariyer are two key areas where you will find schools and hospitals, as well as foreign embassies. A number of hospitals can also be found in and near to Kemerburgaz, however, this area is a half an hour drive from central Istanbul. If you are working in the city centre, it may be a bit of a commute. For a more detailed description of the city's neighbourhoods, have a read of Areas and Suburbs in Istanbul. To help orientate yourself, it could help to put the areas into Google Maps. Have you already started your apartment search or thought about hiring a real estate agent?
I hope this helps.
All the best,
C
