I have recently moved to Barcelona, Sagrada Familia, and am struggling to find a local gym or swimming pool. i like to swim a few times a week before or after work, but have not been able to find a swimming pool that is local and not too expensive. Any help would be great.

If you're looking for an affordable gym in Barcelona then you should consider the Fundaciò Claror (Claror.cat) centres. There's one in Sagrida Familia, but I'm not sure if it has a pool or not, you can check on the web site - I think it does. These enterprises are funded by the Barcelona City Council, which is why they're such good value for money.

Otherwise, in Barceloneta, which isn't necessarily close by, but is a few metro stops away there's the National Athetic Club of Barcelona (Cnab.org), which has really amazing facilities, and relatively decent monthly membership prices for swimming. You definitely won't find a better pool in the city.
