Hello there Expats, I hope everyone is doing well. A friend of mine is possibly moving to HK from NYC and I am trying to help her understand a few questions she has before making a final decision. I was hoping someone can answer a few questions around salary and cost of living in HK. What is considered a good/competitive salary in HK for a second year analyst in financial industry? Here in NYC, it may vary anywhere from USD $65K to around USD$85K plus bonus. What would that be in Hong Kong in HK Dollars? Additionally how much would a one bedroom or a studio apartment cost in HK Dollars? Can she possibly secure an apartment remotely before she arrives to HK. Or do most people stay at the hotel first and then find a place to live after. What are some of the websites she could look at while while searching for a place to live. Is there a neighborhood where Expats tend to live? Thank you very much! Much appreciated!
