We're moving to San Jose from Miami in July and I'm looking for advice on where the best schools are. Anyone with insights about the best schooling districts in San Jose? We'd ideally like to send our kids to a public school. or even a charter if we're able to get a place...

Hi Phil

There are good public, private and charter schools there and you'll be spoilt for choice, although competition for places can be quite intense at some schools.

Have a look at our Education and Schools in San Jose page for more info.

Good luck!

The Santa Clara School District is generally considered to be the best schooling district in San Jose, so you should consider looking in and around this area. Placement of a chile at a public school in San Jose is dependent on where they live, and parents will have to show proof of their residencial address, so when looking for a home, you should definitely keep this schooling district in mind.
