Hi there,
I'm a British citizen and I've been allocated some funding from my university to do research in Bosnia for 6 months.
Can anyone tell me what my visa options are? I won't technically be working and the funds will be put into my UK bank account so I don't think I need permission to work. Or do I? Do EU rules apply? At this rate, it looks like I will only be moving in September 2021, and I have no idea what the situation will be with Brexit...I'm so confused, any advice would be highly appreciated.
Cheers
T

Hi T,
That's great news that you have received funding, congratulations! Visa options are confusing in general, and to Bosnia and Herzegovina is no different. Still, there are reciprocal visa agreements allowing free entry to residents and those with valid visas for the EU, Schengen member states and the US for 90 days over a six month period. As your stay is for longer than 90 days, we advise you to contact the embassy directly. There is a British embassy in London, click here for contact details. Where do you live?
Regarding your bank account, have you checked with your bank about international banking fees? This is always important to check when travelling so that you can manage your finances.

All the best,
