I got a job offer, I'm sure this question get's asked a lot. I've tried to do as much research as possible but it's just a scary decision to make. I don't want to get over there and regret it or wish I would have asked for more. I'm a single male with no kids. Housing- 1 bed room paid by company 18000-Base salary 2509-Transportation 301-Utilities 306-Plane Ticket 35 days off a year 9148-Moving/Shipping So the total package is 21116 monthly. Should I ask for more...?

Where are you moving from?

The biggest headaches in Abu Dhabi are schools and accommodation, so it's good that the first isn't a worry and the second's taken care of. (That said, 18,000 AED a month for a single bedroom seems like a rip off to me, even for notoriously expensive Abu Dhabi!)

Whether the package is fair really depends on what the job is. Whether it's an acceptable wage for you will depend on your lifestyle. Are you looking to save money while in the UAE?

My advice is: take a few moments to write a list of what you usually spend money on in an average week in your home country, then check out the Cost of Living in Abu Dhabi page for the amount in AED that these items cost, and add up what you would spend in a week in the UAE. Then compare that to the 625 AED you'll have to spend in a week on this package.

If that is 18000aed per month with accommodation included then take it.Take no notice of GABYS Abu Dhabi is not expensive and remember their is no tax plus an 3excellent life style.

Thanks everyone, 18,000 is just my base salary monthly. Everything else is paid including housing. All I will pay is food and a few utilities. I will be working in a hospital set to open in 2013. I'm single 27 and a male, I hope it's easy to make friends there.

Hi Christo!!! I am have got a similar offer with one of the best healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi and USA. the openning will be in the fourth Quarter of 2013. Currently, I have passed the interview and waiting for the proposal. I did some research regarding the living cost in Abu Dhabi and i find out that is very expensive especially in terms of accomodation and transportation. However, your offer seems to be very good since the accomodation is provided by the company. Can i ask about your nationality??? Good Luck!!!

I'm not sure, they just made me an offer last week. I'm getting nervous, I'm outgoing and extroverted I'm not sure I'll be able to adapt to the culture. I'm on the business/insurance side of things, what about you? Where will you be moving from?

Hi chrisco!! Actually, I am a Lebanese working in Saudi Arabia. Life here is miserable and very conservative but don't worry Abu Dhabi is one of the best cities in the Gulf Area. There is a lot of foreigners from different nationalities. The culture and environment are very nice comparing to the other nearby countries. I will be working as Environmental services supervisor. Still waiting for the offer and I am not sure if they will give me what I want. However, I think it's a good company to work with.

I am a Lebanese working in Saudi Arabia. Life is miserable here, very strict and conservative. I am really willing to relocate. Abu Dhabi is one of the best cities in the Gulf Area. There is a lot of foreigners from different nationalities. Of course for the first two months you will suffer a little bit in order to adapt with the culture and environment especially that you are moving from USA. Bye!!!

I have passed already three interviews and I am still waiting for the offer. I am really loosing my patience!! How long did you wait for the offer??

Yesterday the recruiter asked me to send her my pay slip and passport copy and some other forms in order to proceed with my application. What about you?? did you receive the visa?

I am talking about the Company's recruiter named "Joselet Mathew". As I told you before, I am still under the recruiting process and waiting for their offer but everyday she is requesting for new documents and forms to be submitted, I don't know if you have passed in the same process. Anyway,I think it's a long process. We should be more patient.

What recruiter are you using? No, I just got my passport Friday. I'm filling out 2 or 3 different forms and trying to get my Diploma attested in order to proceed with the back ground check. This sure does test your patience!

The cost of a 2 bedroom apartment in Abu Dhabi usually is about AED 120,000 - 180,000, depending where in the emirate you choose to live. You can use the Cost of Living in Abu Dhabi page for a more comprehensive information.

The current exchange rate is AED 1 = USD 0.27. However, exchange rates change all the time, so it is best to keep an eye on the rates online.

I see this is as a common issue and hope someone can help me here. I went through multiple interview with CCAD, recruiter told me that i have been accepted for the position, Provided all the required legal documents such as Birth certificates, Passport, etc. Its been week and half but they have not told me what is my contract/salary or any information of start date or anything. Does anyone know how long does it take for them to send contract information?
