Hi :) I am planning to relocate to Frankfurt with my 3 children (ages 9,5,5). They are currently enrolled in a British international school. I am questioning the options of state bilingual schools as schooling support is not included in my relocation. Can you help with a list of bilingual schools in Frankfurt?

Hi Miriam. From what I've seen online, finding a state-funded bilingual school could be like finding a needle in a haystack. There aren't many of these schools available and they are often very picky when it comes to the students they accept.
Since your children are still very young, you could consider enrolling them in a German public school instead. Frankfurt has a massive expat population. With many parents choosing to enroll their children into a public school, many schools have adapted to helping children who do not necessarily have the language skills yet. How long are you planning on staying in Frankfurt? If you are intent on a long stay, this very well may just be the best option as your children will be getting an excellent education and learning another language at the same time.
If you are not comfortable with this option, you may have to consider international schools. The fees for these schools do vary and with some research, you may find a reasonably priced one. Some schools also offer payment plans. Would you be able to renegotiate schooling fees in your contract at all? You can check out our page on international schools for a list of possible schools.
If you already know which area you will be relocating to, it might be worth talking to the local "Schulberatungsstelle" (helpdesk of the school authority). I really hope this helps! Rianca
Hi Mariam,
I am in exactly the same situation now, need your guidance on what option to take. My child is 9 year and we are moving from British international school and looking for a good public or less expensive bilingual school. Which option you took and what is your experience?
Thanks
