Hi AJ,
Top areas include Barnet, Sutton, Kingsfield, Richmond, Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea. For more info about some of these neighbourhoods, check out Areas and Suburbs in London. However, you may have a problem getting a spot at such short notice – I would advise getting in touch with desired schools as soon as possible as the best schools tend to have waiting lists. Also, as there is a catchment system for London schools, I think you would need to already be residing in the area in question before application. Again, this is something the schools should be able to give you info on as part of the application process.
You might also want to have a look at private schools and international schools in London – as these aren't based on catchment areas you'd be able to cast your net a bit wider. The best of these are also often oversubscribed so again, time is of the essence.
Are you sorted with regards to visas and residence permits or is this still in the pipeline?
Best of luck with the move!
- Meagan
