How does health insurance work for expats in Turkey? How they can they buy it, and what is the average cost for couples?

Hi Sabih,

It's compulsory for all residents under 65 years living in Turkey to have either public or private health insurance. Expats living in Turkey for more than a year can apply for Turkish public health insurance, which is cheap and effective.

It is difficult to assess the average cost per couple, as each insurance company, and each couple is different. Aetna International, as well as Cigna Global, are two world renowned international health insurance companies, perhaps this is a good place to start to compare prices.

Our guide for expats moving to Turkey may be able to answer any more questions you have.

Hope this helps!

Steve
