I've got an offer for 1000 BHD per month, and my accommodation will be paid for. I'm a single male that likes to enjoy himself, but I'm not a stickler for luxury. Based on the cost of living in Manama, is that salary acceptable?

Yes, based on the cost of living in Bahrain, you'll be able to live very comfortably. Accommodation and car payments (an unfortuante necessity) will be your largest expenses in Bahrain, and since you have the first covered you only need to worry about the second. That said, sometimes rent is exclusive of municipal taxes and utilities, so ask your employer if these things will be covered. Otherwise, you'll need to budget for them - though they won't be that much.

You can lease a decent mid-level vehicle (think a Toyota Camry) for around 150 BHD per month, and then petrol is dirt cheap - this is the Middle East after all.

Food and entertainment is between 100 and 200 BHD a month, depending on what your habits are. Still. as you see, you'll have the potential to save a fat wad of cash.

Take the offer, and for information check out the Expat Arrivals Bahrain guide.

I am a single male and I like the night life. I have recently got an offer in Bahrain of BHD 800 basic salary and rent allowance of BHD 300 and a transport allowance of BHD 50. Please let me know if I will have a decent appartment and livelyhood, and also able to save. My work will involve moving about, but however expect my employer to reimburse me of any such expenses between office and client.

I am a proffessional accountant with 6-7 years of experience in Big-4 Audit firm. I have recently got an offer of 1150 BHD per month in a similar establishment in Bahrain as a supervisor. I will be responsible for my own transport and accomodation. Please advise if this is a reasonable offer considering my experience and qualification. And also if I will have a decent apartment and livelyhood, and also possibly save.
