Hi

I'd like to know how much I can expect to pay for a flat in HCMC? I will be working on an English teacher's salary if that helps. Also, any recommendations for good areas or general tips? Thanks.

Hi Kate, You can search for what you are looking for with Google. Now, Google is intelligent enough to understand what you mean. So don't hesitate to use Google. Besides, you can take a look at websites of small company like https://www.saigonapartment.rent Although your question posted long time ago but I think my reply here should help someone else who is looking for an apartment. Regards,

Hello Kate, Your rent can vary enormously based on where your flat is located and if the services you will be receiving (generator, satellite tv, daily cleaning, etc.). It will also depend on how many rooms you need. Sometimes small differences in location make a great difference. If you consider Thao Dien, a place I consider great to live in and were you might even be teaching since there is an English school and many international ones in that area, rent for a one bedroom apartment can range from 500 to 700 USD/month. If you choose the other side of the highway (near Metro supermarket, only five minutes by motorbike), you can expect to pay a lot less but obviously with a little less luxury (still within reasonable standards for a foreigner). You can have a look at the website http://snap.com.vn/ we used their services for finding our current house and were very happy, they have an extensive and up to date database of apartments for rent HCMC District 2).
