I'm considering going to the East to teach English in September this year or maybe early in 2013. I've heard good things about Japan but the high cost of living puts me off. Is it more lucrative to teach English in South Korea or to teach English in Taiwan? Also, which would make for a more enjoyable year? Any advice or insights would be appreciated.

I know a few people who have taught English in South Korea and loved it. Culturally it's obviously a challenge and I've heard the language barrier can be quite frustrating. I'm also interested in teaching English in South Korea so would love to see if anyone has any insights into this!
