My husband and myself are thinking of moving to Kenya and our 24 year old son would like to come with us and open a gym. What type of work visa would he need

Hi Sharon Eyre, Opening a gym in Kenya places you in the category of starting a business. You would therefore apply for a Class G Work Permit. In order to get this Work Permit, you will have to have proof of capital invested amounting to a min of USD 100,000. There is a non-refundable processing fee of KES 10,000 plus once the permit is approved you will need to pay KES 100,000. This will last you for 2 years, where you will need to renew with the same costs again. There are other work permits which can be worked out for you. I will inform you that obtaining work permits in Kenya is quite a difficult process due to bribes, cons etc. It is unfortunately common for work permit processes to be stuck at immigration with no movement for even over a year due to refusal of bribes. We are an immigration agency that can help you obtain your work permits quite efficiently. Let's communicate via email. You can reach me at fathershandltd@hotmail.com (http://fathershandltd.wordpress.com/) I look forward to hearing from you:-)
