is HK 100000 per month good enough for an expat with family of four including two school going kids? Also if you can guide on school admissions and with area would be better for Indians. My office will be in Two IFC, in Hongkong island, but will have to travel a lot locally. Do we need a car for local travel or public transport is good enough. thanks

As for your first question, 100 000 HKD per month is certainly a respectable salary, especially if accommodation has been provided by the company you work for. As for whether it is enough, that's highly subjective and dependent on the standard of living you're used to. Have a look at our Cost of Living in Hong Kong page, which should be able to give you an idea what to expect in terms of expenses.
Regarding your question about transport, the transit system in Hong Kong is efficient and integrated, and most expats get by without a car. It does depend on your schedule, and where you need to be going. Have a look at our Transport and Driving in Hong Kong page, which gives a good overview of public transport.
Good luck for the move,
