Hi again

Thanks for the advice on banking. Will probably keep my international account as I'm only going for a year. That said, I'm diabetic and would feel better knowing a bit about healthcare and the hospitals in Qatar.

Anyone got any insights on this?

All best

Hi again Dave

The healthcare system in Qatar is of a high standard, and you should be fine- there are  around five public hospitals in Doha, not to mention private ones, and if you get a state Medical Card once you're settled, the chances are you will pay very little for treatment, if anything.

That said, as with anywhere else, the waiting times at public hospitals can be quite long. If you can afford it, the private hospitals in Qatar are generally quite brilliant.

Check out our Healthcare in Qatar page for a bit more info. For a list of hospitals in the city, have a look at our Healthcare in Doha page.

All the best
